Some of my favorite memories as a kid involve picnics with my family. We would pack a lunch, head out to the hills, lay a blanket down, and enjoy the peace and time together.
In America, we are fortunate to have a safe, affordable, and abundant food supply.
In 1960, 17% of American’s disposable income was spent on food. Today, that number is only 9.5%. Farmers have been trailblazers in making this possible. We’re producing more with less year after year. This is something to celebrate.
I hope this summer you can all enjoy several nice meals with family and friends and take a moment to smile knowing your food is safe, affordable, and coming from families who care.
