“Your greatest contribution to the kingdom of God may not be something you do, but someone you raise”- Andy Stanley
Take a pause. Let that sink in.
I cannot tell you how good I already feel. A weight has lifted off my shoulders. Trying to grow a new business during a pandemic and so many trials in our world has been unbelievably stressful. There have been numerous wrenches I’ve worked through just to keep it going, and I can already tell this pause is exactly what I needed.
The last few days I painted my nails for the first time in months, started a new book, worked in my garden, and spent quality time with this little man. I could cry (again) it feels so good.
I’m going to learn a lot from this and come out stronger, with new boundaries to make sure I’m still able to enjoy the simple things in this life. Hank will only be little so long and this is a stage in my life I don’t want to fly through. I want to take every opportunity I can to do things like wander through fields with him.
I hope this speaks to even one of you and makes you content with the stage of life you’re in. You don’t have to do ALL the things. It’s okay to pause. It’s okay to take a break. It’s okay to live for each moment. It’s okay to breathe.
What you think might not be very important, may actually be the most important thing you’re doing.
