Marilyn’s Cutout Cookies
This recipe comes from my Grandma's kitchen and they are my personal favorite cookie of all time. Perfect for any holiday or birthday!
Ingredients
Cookies
- 1 cup butter 2 sticks
- 1 cup Crisco Shortening
- 2 eggs
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 2 tsp cream of tartar
- 5 cups flour maybe a little less, don’t let dough get too dry because you’ll add a little more flour when rolling out
Frosting
- 2 tbsp butter melted
- 2 oz cream cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- powdered sugar add to right consistency
Instructions
Cookies
- Mix the first 6 ingredients until smooth, then add dry ingredients
- Refrigerate dough for about an hour
- Roll out dough to about 1/4″ thick (use extra flour to keep from sticking)
- Use whatever shape of cutout that you would like
- Bake at 340 F for about 11 min, watch closely

- Mix together
