For the moms who wear many hats and can be found wrangling kids in the dusty corners of a barn, shuffling farmers from one field to the next, whipping up a meal to serve a crew in a moments notice, delivering a newborn calf, and much, much more. I’ve curated a list of some of the things I think the moms in agriculture will love.
I hope this gift guide gives you ideas and inspiration to treat the mom in your life.
Things that Don’t cost a dime
Time
Plan a day for the family. If she can show up and attend a fun-filled family day that she didn’t have to plan, she will be thankful for it!
Plan the activities, what you’ll eat, and more. Some ideas would be:
A family day checking fields and a packed picnic lunch.
A trip to a garden center (yes this costs money) for her to pick out some springtime flowers.
A landscaping day around the home where you have things like new mulch and lunch laid out for her so she doesn’t have to think about it.
A Handwritten Note
I always value a thought-filled note from someone I love.
Thought Starters for Husbands:
Write about what you value most about her as a mom
What are some things she does that you are thankful for?
What are some things she does to support you?-name some specific things and thank her for them.
Here are some things I love about how you mother our kids:
Add in some flair and inside jokes between the two of you that you know will make her smile
Thought Starters for Kids:
What are some of your favorite things about her?
What are some of your favorite things to do with her?
How does she help and support you? Thank her for what she does for you and how she makes you feel.
Make sure to tell her how much you love her!
Experiences
A quick list of things you can get her to treat herself. If you have kids, make sure to plan the childcare for her so she can get away and not feel the pressure of finding help, and the mom guilt associated with it.

For Moms Suffering Loss
Mother’s Day can be a tough time for some, especially those suffering loss or infertility. Deeply Seededis a brand I love. They have handmade necklaces specifically for moms suffering loss and infertility. She has lots of other options as well, I love her sentiment for those suffering loss.
Things She’ll Treasure
Our kids also love to see the frames when they go to visit grandmas and great grandmas. They squeal in excitement when they see a photo of themselves or their cousins show up. I want one for our house someday as well.
The 10-Year journal would be a perfect gift for the women actively farming. So far, I have created the crop farm journal and the dairy farm journal. These journals are meant to be used in-the-moment and keep memories as your family goes through the years farming. I’m creating more versions for other types of operations in the future!
Breastmilk Jewelryis something I found while I was pregnant with my first. I loved the concept and having a moment to remember the journey breastfeeding moms go on with their littles. You won’t be able to get a custom made piece in time for Mother’s Day, but you could definitely get a gift card so she can pick out the perfect piece for her. This ring has breastmilk from both of my kids and birthstones for all three, including the baby we lost to miscarriage. It’s something I’ll treasure forever.
I loved working with Jewelry Memories to create my custom piece. They have real gold options so the jewelry will last for decades. They’re a Canadian based company and it does take a bit for the shipping process but it was worth the wait!
Equip Her To Do The Things She Loves
Duluth Trading Company is a brand our family loves. We shop their gear for work on the farm and Josh get’s all of his work pants from Duluth.
Athlesure Era
The shorts I’m wearing in the photo above are my favorite. They’re the Sedona shorts and I have them in 3 colors.
I hope you were able to find some inspiration here and enjoy Mother’s Day with the moms in your life!
