  • 1 3-4lb beef roast
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 16 oz broth (beef or bone, whatever you have)
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
Seasonings
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp thyme
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
Sandwiches
  • 8 buns
  • 8 slices muenster or provolone cheese
  • 4 tbsp butter

Method

Crock Pot Beef
  1. Season the roast on all sides with the seasoning mix
  2. Layer the sliced onions on the bottom of the crockpot
  3. Put the roast on top of the onions
  4. Add the broth, Worcestershire, and soy sauce
  5. Cook on low for 8 hours until the roast is easily pulled apart with two forks
  6. After cooking, shred the beef and return it to the juices in the slow cooker, so the meat can soak up the juices
Sandwich Assembly
  1. Put a good layer of butter on each bun
  2. Toast the buns on a skillet until they're nice and golden brown on the inside
  3. Layer one slice of cheese on the bottom of the sandwhich
  4. Top with a hearty layer of the juicy meat mixture
  5. Add a second slice of cheese to the top of the meat, and then add the top bun
  6. Wrap the sandwich in tin foil for the ride to the field so the cheese can get nice and melty into the meat.
